Robert Friday, Chief Scientist and Director of Advanced Technology for San Jose-based Metricom, Inc. will be the featured speaker at the Seattle Wireless Interest Group's monthly meeting this evening in Bellevue.
Friday will be providing a technical overview of Metricom's high-speed Ricochet network, now available in 14 major metropolitan areas and 15 airports across the US.
Also speaking this evening is Attorney Brad Furber, a specialist in wireless startup financing.
The meeting will be from 6:00pm-9:00pm at the Rockwell Institute in Bellevue.
The group was formed just a few months ago by Steve Stroh and his Wife Tina. Stroh is a technical writer, columnist, speaker, and consultant who specializes in broadband wireless Internet access and packet radio. Other founders include Scott Bird, an Attorney specializing in wireless issues and John Doerschuk, a site acquisition specialist for the Alaris Group.
