Executive reshuffling resumed this week as value chain management software maker i2 Technologies, Inc. said its
Chief Executive Officer Greg Brady resigned.
Chairman and Founder Sanjiv Sidhu Monday assumed the role of chief executive officer of Dallas-based i2, although Brady will remain
in an advisory capacity with i2 during the transition. Separately, Tom Cooper, executive vice president of i2 and president of
Americas Sales, has decided to depart the company, but will stay in his position while the company develops a transition plan.
Supply chain management (SCM) is the practice of monitoring materials, information, and finances as they move in a process from
supplier to manufacturer to wholesaler to retailer to consumer -- both within and among companies. Currently, software systems with
Web interfaces are competing with Web-based application service providers (ASP) who promise to provide SCM services for companies
who rent their service. I2 competitors include SAP, PeopleSoft and J.D. Edwards and Co..

Sidhu talked about the difficulties the enterprise software market faced in 2001, repeating what many of his counterparts in the
software industry have been saying over the last year to year and a half.
"The past 18 months have been challenging for i2 and others in the enterprise software arena, as overall corporate IT spending has
been significantly constrained," added Sidhu. "As the economy begins to rebound, we see a huge opportunity to help companies improve
their efficiency, as well as reduce their cost of goods sold. I am very excited about working with the i2 team to improve quality in
all that we do, build customer success, enhance sales execution and our organizational effectiveness."
