REDMOND, Wash., June 19--Software giant Microsoft said it bought Bungie Software Products for undisclosed terms, that some analysts have estimated to be between $20 million and $40 million. Microsoft said it is gaining exclusive publishing and distribution rights to select titles of closely-held Chicago-based Bungie's computer and video games to its personal computers and Xbox video game consoles.

SUNNYVALE, June 19--Proxim, the leader in wirefree broadband networking, announced that it has acquired privately held Farallon Communications of San Leandro, California, a leading developer of plug-and-play networking solutions for Macintoshes and PCs. Through the Farallon acquisition, Proxim will broaden its offerings for the home networking, small business and education markets by adding Macintosh-compatible wireless connectivity solutions and other complimentary broadband networking products. Proxim purchased Farallon for 121,654 shares of Proxim's common stock worth approximately $10 million and $4 million in cash.

MURRAY HILL, N.J., June 19--Lucent Technologies , the world leader in communications semiconductors, announced it hasacquired Herrmann Technology, a leading supplier of devices for next-generation dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) optical networks. The acquisition strengthens Lucent's ability to quickly deliver highly integrated, cost-effective optoelectronic component solutions for the fast-growing optical networking market. Lucent acquired Herrmann Technology, a privately held company based in Dallas, Texas, in a stock transaction for approximately 7.3 million shares of Lucent's common stock, valued at about $438 million.

NEW YORK, June 19--Privately-held Internet business consultant Mucho.com said it agreed to take over TEAM America , a provider of personnel and payroll services, in a deal valued at about $29 million. Mucho shareholders will receive over 5.925 million shares of TEAM America stock. The combined entity will be known as Mucho.com and Mucho's top executive will hold the chairman and chief executive posts for the new firm. Lafayette, Calif.-based Mucho said TEAM America shareholders have the option of selling their holdings for $6.75 per share in cash through a self-tender offer for up to half of TEAM America's total shares outstanding.
