CMW, a word of cauton, make sure that any new tire has approximately the same outside diameter as the one now on your MSUV. A larger or a smaller tire will cause the MSUV to no longer sit level.
I agree, just took a look at mine and it looks like an easy fix to me. If the factory supplied axle bolts aren't long enough, and it doesn't look like they would be, a piece of all thread rod could be substituted in their place.
