Voice over IP (define) specialist Net2Phone will replace its CEO and reduce the number of directors in a
management restructuring announced today.
Liore Alroy will take over the CEO job from Stephen Greenberg on Oct. 31.
Alroy currently serves as an advisor to the executive team on behalf of IDT
Corp., Net2Phone's controlling shareholder.
Greenberg will become chairman of the Newark, N.J., company, serving as a
liaison to partners and investors. Sarah Hofstetter, a Net2Phone
spokeswoman, said the decision was a joint one among Greenbert, current
chairman Howard Jonas and the board of directors.

"I have been involved with Net2Phone in a number of roles over the past few
years, and I truly appreciate having had the chance to run a company that
has driven so much change in the telecom industry," Greenberg said in a
statement.
Greenberg has served as CEO for two years, and was president for two years
before that, Hofstetter said.
The number of directors is being reduced from 13 to nine to maintain the
independence of the board. Five of the nine members will not be
Net2Phone or IDT Corp. employees. Like the CEO move, the board change will
occur Oct. 31.

Four board members agreed to resign. One is Tony Werner, CTO of Liberty
Media. Net2Phone stressed that Werner will continue to head its cable
advisory committee, which is charged with plotting the company's cable
telephony strategy and offer advice on its product roadmap.
Net2Phone's SIP-based (define) platform enables telecom service
providers and cable operators to provide hosted VoIP telephony services.
The company has routed billions of retail VoIP minutes globally, serving users
in the United States and overseas.
In its direct VoIP consumer business, the company competes with privately
held Vonage and others.
