acquired San Francisco-based Web application developer,
Mobility.Net.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
Software.com said the acquisition provides it with high-performance,
customizable Web applications and server technology supporting Web mail,
address book, calendar and task management applications.
The company plans to incorporate the applications with Software.com's
InterMail line of products, aimed at
providing its service provider customers to offer access to Web-based
applications.
"The acquisition of Mobility.Net enhances our ability to offer a broader
range of messaging solutions to our
customers, while providing the foundation for expanding our product line
moving forward," said Valdur

"Because Web-based applications give end
users easier, anytime,
anywhere access to information, they are increasingly appealing to service
providers," Koha said.
Software.com said the Mobility.net staff will work in the company's new
office in Silicon Valley.The
Mobility.Net team will be responsible for developing and managing
Software.com's Web
applications.
The Mobility.Net features include Web mail, address book, calendar and
task management, which can all be customized to fit with a service provider's
brand. Mobility.Net applications run on the following platforms: Windows NT,
HP-UX, IBM AIX, Silicon Graphics
IRIX, and Sun Solaris.

Web mail features include multi-lingual spell checker, message searching,
in-line
attachments, multiple folders, global
directory searching, and single secure login technology, a hacker deterrent.
A calendar solution enables users to manage events and
to-dos by day, month, week or year views, maintain personal calendars, and
conduct
basic group scheduling.
