TrelliSoft, Inc., a provider of multi-platform storage resource management (SRM) software has renamed StorageAlert/DB to StorageAlert/Apps. The company said the name change was made to more accurately reflect the product's focus on eliminating storage-related application problems and as a harbinger of future support for applications beyond DBMSs.
"StorageAlert/Apps is designed for storage professionals-not DBAs-who need to manage the storage that is allocated to mission critical applications," said Steve Donovan, TrelliSoft president and CEO. "By monitoring and managing the storage associated with an application and its underlying databases, StorageAlert/Apps can help eliminate storage-related application problems such as downtime or over-allocated, unused space."
