It appears that the studies currently being conducted are centering on
HIV/AIDS patients. I have not found any information about open trials.
The Australian biotechnology firm Norwood Abbey Ltd has partnered with
Monash University in this project.

In addition to this promising new treatment, there have been many
other studies involving the manipulation of Gonadotropin Releasing
Hormone (GnRH) in order to boost the production of T-cells.
If general information about studies of this sort would be suitable as
an answer to your question, I can gather more material. Unfortunately,
I doubt that I will be able to help enroll your friend in a drug
trial. Your friend's oncologist is his best hope in that area.
