Are there any internet radio stations which:
1. Allow me to skip to the next song if I don't like the current one
2. Allow me to replay the current (or previous) song if I like it
3. Are free and do not restrict the number of songs I can hear in a day
Thanks
I listen to the music programs on KCRW in Sanata Monica, which are
generally excellent. You can download the recorded show at any time,
and within the media player you can, of course, backtrack and fast
forward at will. It's not "skip" track accuracy, but it does allow you
to move pass stuff you would rather not hear. TV on the Radio for Baby BoomersThis is Shokus Internet Radio!:: Shokus Internet Radio is a service of Shokus Video. Entire web site ©2006 by Shokus Video Productions. All rights reserved. http://www.shokusradio.com/HOME |
Hi,
1. Narada Records (www.narada.com/radio.htm) is a top quality online
free radio service with channels like jazz, new age, world, back
porch, etc. This service provides streaming audio at 20 & 40 kbps and
will allow you to skip to the next song if you don't like the current
one. The 6 song skip limit per hour is an agreement that all online
radio providers must sign with the music industry. Although all online
free radio providers have the 6 song skip limit per hour, you can work
around this in Narada Radio. Just switch the channel when you reach
the limit and switch back again to clear the skip count.
2. No online radio service will allow you to replay the current or
previous song if you like it because it would violate the agreement
with the music industry which specifically states that no more than
one song per artist can be played during every 1 hour of play time. Of
course you can work around this by extracting the radio stream through
the 'line out' of your sound card using software like Sound Capture
and replay the song through it.
3. Narada Records is free and does not restrict the number of songs
you can hear in a day. It draws from a very large repository of
records and therefore you will never run out of new songs. And the
most important thing - no freaking advertisements to interrupt your
listening experience.
Hope that helps! www.launch.yahoo.com is my favorite, it doesn't let you skip forever
usually, and it isnt entirely ad-free if you don't pay, but it has
music videos and the works, biographies, pictures, and you can even
specify the type of music you want, and the stuff you don't like you
can tell the site to never play again through a rating system.
