If you shoot loose powder, start with 50 grains and work up. Keyholing at 50 yards with 50 grains of Triple-7 in my CVA Optima. i have the same gun and use powerbelt 245 gr. and 100 grains 777,with no problem out to 150 yards Chiefs Pro Clean - Cleans Muzzleloaders Like Nothing Else Can :: It cleans powder, lead and plastic residue then retrieves it from the barrel. I am shooting the power belt 295 gr. copperclad hollow points with 100 gr. pyrodex pellets. It works for me!
well i would say the heaviest bullet go could get... but i would start with powerbelt 245 areo tip ,, 100 gr powder,,, thanks eddie
i agree with the answer above me, i have an optima but i use 150 grains of 777 powder
