Hi the company i work originally freelanced a lot of flash work and over the last 6 months they've been training in-house employees to do flash, but now they want to go back and check to see if any of their previous freelanced work was illegally produced and from which freelancer. can anyone point me in the right direction?

well they're pirated.
but normally what happen is the serial number(pirated) cannot be registered and not eligible for online updating, it's only used for the activation of the software, that's the only difference my man.
I can think only of some kind of online checking... I mean flash only calls in a check via http, and the actual license data is on a server with php/asp or whatever backend you want. I might be wrong, never thought of that before.
I very much doubt it.
If flash stored information like that in every SWF, you'd end up with a hefty sized file.
