im going in february 2009 and just wanted to know if it was any good
No. Is this is city of some sort?
I am a yearly pass-holder to both Seaworld and Aquatica. We've been about 5 times so far, that's only because we are only 2 hours away from Orlando. It is alot of fun. It has a few Thrill slides that are great. 2 Rivers, I suggest Roas Rapids, that is the fast moving river. The other one is just a lazy river that you float on tubes through an aquarium with lots of fish, it is also the entrance to one of the big slides so it gets rather crowded. We usually skip that river. There is a huge childs play area that has miniature versions of the big slides for the kiddies. Then there is a small childs play area that is only about 3 feet at deepest I think. Most of the slides are the kind that you can find anywhere but the Dolphin plunge takes you through a tank with Commersons Dolphins(black and white dolphins). It's fun but you really go too fast through the clear part to even see anything in the the tank, but fun none the less. My favorite slide is Wanau way, it has 4 slides and each one does a different loop. The Banana beach cookout is really not worth the money. We tried it once and there was no selection inside, just nasty burgers and dry corn on the cob along with other unmemorable items. The fact that you get to have as much to drink as you want makes it good. If you want a good spot on the beach to sit or anywhere you should probably get there early to assure you can get a few lounge chairs. Once you park your things there no-one will mess with it. I wouldn't leave anything valuable, maybe just a beach bag and towels over the chairs to let people know that is taken. Aquatica is still new, it only opened in the begining of March 2008 and we went in the first week that it opened, so everything is still in great shape, and the weather then was excellent .Oh and to answer your other question about the weather in February, it should be excellent, warm enough to play in the water but still not so hot that it's miserable when you are laying out in the sun. They also keep the water there comfortable according to the temperature that day. That's also why they can tay open year-roud!
Be careful to use sunscreen, you will get burnt before you even know it and time passes so quickly, and have fun on your vacation!
To answer your question in short.... YES, IT IS A GREAT PLACE! I LOVE IT!
I am probably the only person who wasn't impressed with Aquatica. It was extremely crowded (they closed off the parking lot before noon) and the staff didn't seem very knowledgable. I much prefer Wet'n Wild.
