with my doppler it suggests you can use baby oil, water or similar as well as gel provided. it has to be something that will create a air proof seal between your skin and the doppler.
i have a light oil spray by advent that i use if i want to try and save some gel and a baby oil spray. story of baby lane 2000:: She applied the cold gel and went to work. My eyes were immediately drawn to the . I ran but didn't make it. It came falling out on the hallway rug. http://sids-network.org/fp/lane_nancy.htmHOME | MySpace.com - BIG UGLY JERK WITH A DUMB FACE THAT NOBODY LIKES :: Another time I tried to feed some old potatoes to a duck but it spit it out and ran away. good luck.
KY jelly, it works exactly the same!!!!
If you are going to exposing you baby to ultrasound you should be aware of the potential risks.
There has been very little research done on ultrasound but those that have been done show links to side effects but have been dismissed as most trials have not been considered large enough.
I seriously believe it is a disgrace that nearly all medial professionals claim it is 100% safe when the research on it clearly paints a different picture.
The article I quoted backs up all this statement with trials and research.
I believe we should make our own minds up after considering both sides.
'A later study carried out in London randomised 2475 women to receive routine Doppler ultrasound examination of the umbilical and uterine arteries at 19-22 weeks and at 32 weeks of pregnancy compared with women who received standard care without Doppler ultrasound. There were 16 perinatal deaths of normally formed infants in the Doppler group compared with four in the standard-care group.'
There were FOUR TIMES as many babies died in the doppler group.
Doppler gel has the correct amount of water to conduct sound waves. Other gels might be used as a substitute but are not recommended. I would wait until the doppler gel arrives.
i used to just use some cream. anything will do just to moisten your skin up really. i used some massage gel stuff. which works just as well as the doppler gel.
congrats!
what the **** is lizzy on about ?????
sorry hun im not sure if i can be much help but i thought i would reassure you that your baby is not going to be harmed in any way from using a doppler. maybe try mothercare or a maternity shop, failing that you could ask your midwife if they will let you have some
good luck hun xx
i had the same prob i tryed cream and i tryed baby oil it worked so i would give the baby oil a try
