Susan S. and a lot of you all have real nice lightning photos before, during and after chases.
Post them here.
Also include some information about these memorable photos or videoclips, date, time and additional information as needed.
In fact, I found this website that might have some of your works already. Check it out.
Enjoy.http://www.stormtrack.org/forum/images/icons/icon7.gif

Oscar I like that badland shot for sure and the green building with the crawler over it in France.

Excellent pictures everyone! Mike, I love that Devil's Tower shot. Talk about being in the right place at the right time.
I want to play too :) Sorry about the annoying frames.

I captured this the first time I ever tried shooting lightning. I was so stoked after seeing it that I jumped up and almost knocked over the camera. :)

My all time favorite. The storm that had gone through earlier in the evening knocked out many of the green argon tubes in the main building.

I shot this in big bend during the most incredible thunderstorm I have every witnessed.

Another of my favoites. The headlights going by are a police officier who drove by several times. I'm surprised I didn't get talked to, as it was around 1 am. I (heart) lightning, and the monsoon starts in 2 weeks so I'm stoked!
No Doubt Susan, I too am on the edge of my seat waiting for the monsoon to start. My Local NWS already made mention of it possibly surging North by wednesday to the ID/UT border? Not sure about that this early, I could be wrong tho.
Happy Chasing everyone....

This doesn't hold a freaking candle to the shots posted before me, but I nabbed this one tonight. This is my closest one yet. Unfortunately it didn't come out very well, but still made me jump quite a bit. Stormguy.com:: Lightning Photography by Dave Crowley. Tornado videos. Thanks Eric. Do we post our personal favorites? If so I like

I used to live in an apartment with an excellent west-facing patio, which gave me a good opportunity for lightning shots... Here are a couple of my faves, shot last year:

Not a fan of shooting lightning after long chases, but I'll do it every once in awhile. I always either 1. Miss it, or 2. Overexpose it.
Here's one from March 12th, 2006 near Marshall, MO...just a few minutes later a nice wedge would appear.

On a side note.. I really f'ed up some lightning last night. I haven't shot that much night lightning this year and it showed. Good lightning photographs arent easy and sometimes we forget that I think... I sure did.
All these beautiful photos have proven my theory... I suck at photography!
Seriously though, those are some amazing photos. Definitely belong on the walls!
Lightning examples from the Florida Keys. The very best period for lightning in the Keys is during August and September which goes along with the hurricane season and the greatest threat for waterspout activity... very exciting, busy time of the year.

My personal fave in terms of artsy-fartsy...
James: that church is awesome foreground scenery! Go back there and try to get a bigger lightning and you have an unbelievable shot!! Great composition!
Marko: You made some of the best lightning shots I have ever seen in Europe. My favorites are the ones with the high vantage point so that you can see the contact point with the surface. Amazing!
I hope everyone has a great photography season this year.
Oscar
http://www.lightningwizard.com (http://www.lightningwizard.com/) I just have added some new ones.
For lightning photos taken while chasing, go to the Thunderstorms & Lightning gallery and select 2006 (page 4 and beyond... my favorites are the Badlands shots) or 2001.
Soon I will add a gallery with sprites too.

This great site has nice directions and procedures to how to take lightning photos. Insightful. Also many links to some of you other great lightning chasers and photographers

I have a couple from spring '07. Although I just started lightning photography this year I was very pleaed with achieving something that I always wanted to capture together... Lightning bugs and Lightning!!!
When the bugs first emerged there were everywhere!

And of course the cleanest, sharpest shot to date:

The moon, an iridium flare and ISS/Shutlle.... those are my next challenges.
ooooo nice job on that Devil's Tower Mike, sweet...
