My previous laptop crashed and I lost the program and can't remember
it's name.
It was sort of like an information provider. When you opened it, it
would show the top news for the day and important events that had
occurred that day in history.
Famous People's names were clickable as well as places and historical
information. You'd click these and it would take you to a definition
of the topic.
The other distiguinshing feature was that it had a retractable
floating tool bar that sat at the lower right of the screen and I
think it had an arrow on it that you'd click and a search space would
open where you could type a topic name.
It was free to try but about $40 to buy. Anyone using it or remember
the name o f it?
It is a standalone program, I think it connects to the web without the
help of another browser so I guess it has some has some browser
capabilities but it's not solely a browser and it's not 'Copernicus'
the search engine program.
By the way, it wasn't websearch4u as noted in the comment. Expert Witness:: Get all the information you need about legal expert witness ? A list of these type of programs would be helpful in my finnding it. I
guess it's a research or information tool. Thanks.
That's it!!!! Thank you!
How do I get you paid and close this question? I'll check the options
but if you know, post it as a comment.
Yes, I just installed this GuruNet utility, and it matches your
description *exactly* -- the retractable roolbar in the corner with
the arrow and everything. So I'm sure this must be it.
In case you're talking about a few years ago when you had this tool,
note that it used to be called "Atomica", which is what I knew it as.
[I knew GuruNet didn't sound familiar, and I only noticed this because
when it was installing, some of the files still have Atomica in their
names, which instantly jogged my memory when I saw this]. KeelyNet 2008 - March Whats New Index:: Almost daily news and information updates. Your question just reminded of a little utility that I used to use
that sounds identical to what you're describing. I loved it, and
totally forgot about it until now. I had forgotten the name, but just
searching the web now I think I've found it. It's called "Gurunet".
