Hi. I have a macbook and LaserJet 6L printer and I can't get it to work. I have a USB to parallel cable and it's worked sporadically in the last month that I've had it. Lately it keeps saying the printer is off-line and won't print. Now it's continually on hold and it won't resume printing. I've googled some sites but nothing has worked. Help!?
That's a pretty old printer to be using on a Macbook. HP doesn't officially support in on the Mac. Does it have Ethernet on it - using that instead of the usb/parallel thing will almost certainly work better. Gutenprint/Gimp print may help you out. - try downloading and installing those drivers and see if they help you out.
My best suggestion is get a newer laser printer - get one at a closeout store and it will be pretty cheap. Make sure it supports OS X or has Ethernet.
