Friends, I'm typing a school test using MS Word. Then it goes...

    1) Exercise 1:

    a) Letter A
    b) Letter B
    c) Letter C

    2) Exercise 2:

When I type "a) Exercise A" and press ENTER, MS Word "increases indent" by itself. Then, I decrease indent back. After that, MS Word reorder/change the alpha sequence to letter d), instead of the a) I've typed. Then, I have to click on Format >

For God sake... Where can I fix this? I can't disable automatic numbered lists from the AutoCorrec Options because this is not what I want. I just want MS Word to UNDERSTAND that, if I type a), it's because I'm restarting a new numbering, without indent increase, nor anything else. If I want to increase indent, I press TAB before typing a). Gee! And if I want to follow the above numbering sequence, I just press d), @#$%&! (lol - Sorry, I'm nervous, here!) :)

So, does anybody know how to fix (not disable) this auto numbering? Or is this a bug of MS Word?

Thank you very much for your attention. :)

    Hugs,

    Brunces

Detail: This also happens with the exercises numbering, but it's easier to fix it, clicking the right button of the mouse and then clicking on Restart numbering. But, is there any way to fix it too? Thanks.

  • Howdy, and welcome to the board. Take a look at Restart Methods in Lists (http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Numbering/ListRestartMethods.htm); it should give you what you need.
