i have this guy sitting at the bottom of references.xml, right before the tag. upon making these changes to the file and uploading it to my xbox, i reset xbmc. after doing that, i cannot get multiimage controls to use the and properties from references.xml.
making a multiimage control without these two tags present results in a multiimage which apparently is switching images as fast as possible, which causes major slowdowns while the control is visible. here is an example control which exhibits this behavior:
<control>
<description>button1 small backdrop</description>
<imagepath>button1</imagepath>
<type>multiimage</type>
<id>0</id>
<posx>182</posx>
<posy>75</posy>
<width>538</width>
<height>362</height>
<animation effect="fade" time="200">visiblechange</animation>
<visible>true</visible>
</control>
i hope someone else can reproduce this "bug" this time, so i don't feel like i'm going crazy...
works fine when i tried adding a default multiimage control to references.xml
will try with your exact code in a moment.
edit: your code works just fine here.
will re-check and see if i can figure out where the problem is, sorry to keep bring up the same topic :(
the issue persists, so i made a little "skin" called wtf.
it's just an extremely reduced thing with the image directory i am using and a pal directory containing home.xml, which is now this:
<window>
<id>0</id>
<defaultcontrol>99</defaultcontrol>
<allowoverlay>no</allowoverlay>
<controls>
<control>
<imagepath>button1</imagepath>
<type>multiimage</type>
<id>99</id>
<visible>true</visible>
</control>
</controls>
</window>
and references.xml:
<controls>
<control>
<description>my first slideshow control</description>
<type>multiimage</type>
<id>1</id>
<posx>80</posx>
<posy>60</posy>
<width>250</width>
<height>200</height>
<visible>true</visible>
<imagepath>myimagepath</imagepath>
<info></info>
<timeperimage>5000</timeperimage>
<fadetime>2000</fadetime>
<randomize>true</randomize>
<loop>no</loop>
<aspectratio>stretch</aspectratio>
</control>
</controls>
if i understand everything correctly, this should use the settings from references.xml to fill in the settings on the multiimage displayed on the home page which are left undefined. this is not occuring when using this "skin". since thats literally everything which is present in this skin and it is used on a "clean install" of a fresh build from cvs, i feel this is as good as i can do in terms of controlling for environmental variables.
i have uploaded a rar of the "skin" i made here:
http://www.skinjob.net/tsp/wtf.rar
warning: this is not really a skin since it has only one control element, so you will need to manually switch from this skin to something else when you are done by editing the guisettings.xml by hand.
i would be pleased if someone could help me figure this out...
ok, i replaced it. the new copy of the "wtf" skin has all the xml from the cvs project mayhem iii except for the home & references files. the skin.xml file has been altered to give the skin a different name (wtf) and the textures.xpr and sounds\*.wav files deleted. it is now selectable and does what it's "supposed" to do...
argh! the incomplete "skin" cannot be selected :(
