the auto body shop. I have been told that the passenger side ball joint failed. They quoted me $250 to replace the entire arm???and new bushings??? They also told me it might be a good idea to replace both sides. My question is.....does this price (replacement and labor) seem fair or am I being ripped off. Thanks in advance. $250 sounds very reasonable.
As mention, call around for quotes - but remember that it will have to be towed elsewhere too, which you have to add in.
Definitely get both sides done at the same time, and also check to see if there is a recall. If not file a complaint with NHTSA

I would get several estimates from reputable repair shops. Never go with the first estimate you get, some shops can get the parts cheaper than others.
That estimate certainly falls within the realm of fair. You may get a slight difference in quotes in a local area, but nothing major
