Im 23 years old and i have very thin and curly hair. Lately i used a type of birth control that causes hair loss (loestrin horrible) and i have been under a lot of stress. My curls are shoulder length, when straight they are a little bit below my shoulder. For about a month my hair just falls. I wanted a new hair style but how can I if i dont have the same volume. What do you recommend to bring my hair back to life and it grows back? I stopped taking the BC, im still dealing with the stress which I am working on avoiding it. Help please, people always loved my curls and i dont want to turn into mrs baldy! take your vitamins, ask your doctor if you are deficient in anything (likely as a side effect from that birth control pill).
To thicken your hair as it grows back you can get a thickening mousse (which comes in a foam), use a curl enhancing shampoo and very light weight conditioner, and ask your hair stylist to give you a shorter hairstyle (if your hair is shorter, it will be curlier). The best of luck to you, it sounds like you should consult a hair stylist about hair care options...I find that lines like Aveda or Origins (or others you'd find at a health store) work the best in my hair. I try to avoid putting anything I can't pronounce into my body or on my skin and hair.
There are some natural pills with vitamins (in my country they are called "pill food") they really work. my hair is curly too, i don't know what you do to style it, but mine, when it falls a bit, works well with foams.try using a good one and not too much, or you'll get the opposite effect.
Mama i seriously think you should talk to your doctor asap about taking different birth control pills. nobody wants hair loss at the age of 23 let alone any age. Well i dont know what else to say but seriously look into changing those pills and fast! good luck mama
