I got a tattoo on the top of my foot on Saturday, May 9th. I put on socks and tennis shoes today and went to the gym for the first time since getting my tat. My foot no longer hurts it just kinda feels dry now, so I asume it's healed. But when I took my sock off there was an outline of ink on my sock! Does this mean it is not healed yet? Should I not be returning to the gym yet? When will it be safe to wear shoes and socks again? I'm gonna have this tattoo for the rest of my life I really don't want to ruin it. yea your tattoo artist should have told you that you never where socks and shoes for up to three weeks after a tat on your foot, a month to be safe. when ever you get a tat anywhere you need to let it air out and breathe for awhile becaue it takes a while for the ink to set. you might need to get a touch up especially if your feet sweat alot.
tattoos peel for a while, like, a layer of color will peel off and then when the peeling is done, THATS when its heeled.
keep the tattoo moistureized (NO SCENTED LOTION!) and you will be fine
i would stay away from socks and shoes for 6 months(thats just me)
just ask your tattoo artist.
