It takes ages to load pictures over a LAN and XBMC resizes them to 1280x720. And this is with just 4 mpixel pictures. Someday I might have 6 or 8 mpixel and then it will take even longer.
Why not make it possible to save this resized image to the local harddrive so that next time you load that picture it's fetched from the cache/local harddrive.
The original file's datestamp should be cached also incase it's modified on the NAS. In that case the cached file should be deleted and the new one fetched and resized as usual.
This will make manual selection of images much faster and a nice addition to XBMC which levels out one of the CPU's limitations in the Xbox
tnx
I 2nd this idea. I have an 8mp camera and the images take a couple seconds each to load across my lan and resize. I know I can just ftp them over to my xbox, but maintaining 2 sets of pictures isn't really ideal.
