Please may I have biographical details of Naji al Hadithi, who has
been employed as an ambassador and in the Information and Foreign
Ministries in Iraq? What has happened to him since the Second Gulf
War? Where is he now?

His full name is Naji Sabri Ahmad al-Hadithi.
He does not feature on the list of the 55 most wanted Iraqis.

They are Iraqi Information Minister Mohammed Sahaf, Health Minister
Umid Mubarak and Foreign Minister Naji Sabri. U.S. officials said the
three ministers were not regarded as key members of the Saddam

His present whereabouts are unknown. He was last seen in early April
when he returned to Bagdad from a meeting in Cairo. The latest
speculation I can find as to his whereabouts occur in May and July
when it was alleged he was in Austria.

"Foreign Minister of the toppled Iraqi regime, Naji Sabri Al-Hadithi,
stole a sum of $15 million from the Foreign Ministry's treasury,
before the fall of Baghdad, smuggling it with him abroad, said the
Austrian Der Standard newspaper. In its issue today, the newspaper
quoted the Foreign Ministry's workers in Baghdad, as saying that the
sum confiscated by Al-Hadithi was transported abroad on April 7,
before the US entered Baghdad.
Al-Hadithi might currently be with his friend, the far-rightist leader
Joerg Haider, in southern Austria, said the newspaper."
