Ok, my wedding isn't until aug,1st, of next year, but I have been looking for bridesmaid dresses. I love this one from J.Crew, but it's SOO expensive! Also, it doesn't come in the colors I like. I love the halter top and the poofy skirt. Does anyone know where I can find one that's similar to this and a little cheaper??

1- that's not expensive for a bridesmaid gown, sorry to say. it's a shame girls have to pay that much for a dress they only wear once but...
2- that's a dress they can wear again because you picked a good style. I don't know about the color tho, it's not my favorite but if it goes with your scheme, then rock on. 3- that style dress can be found in any dept store, macy's, penney's, sears, etc in their fancy dress section. the halter top might be something they won't show until spring though because it's not a wintery style.
I LOVE JCrew party dresses! They are about average price for bridesmaids though, so even at other bridal stores, similar dresses would cost the same. Just be warned that the dress you picked is cotton, so you might be a little disappointed with the "formality" of them if you do end up ordering them online.
You could always have the dresses made, it's always the cheapest alternative. If you (or each of your bridesmaids) buy the fabric and a pattned (that is a very common dress style that you can surely find a pattern for check out http://simplicity.com/ as a start) it will cost less than $100 for all the fabric, notions and pattern per dress. Then ask around at your fabric store for any seamtresses in the area that make dresses. Sales people in Fabric stores always have the best onnections to reputable seamstresses. It shouldn't cost more than $50 per dress to have them made if you provide all the fabric and supplies, and give the person a reasonable amount of time. So that would make each dress cost less than $150.
Alfred Angelo is a very good resource, too. They have a wide variety of styles (including ones similar to the dress you like) in a ton of colors.

Well All I can say is this.Either go to a boutique and buy it paying monthly installments and catch up with your BMs and make sure they are paying on them, and it's a year. 12250....it's only a little more than 20 dollars a month. Or you could find it by another maker. I mean this is a pretty widely made dress. a short halter top. You can find that by ANY Designer. ANY. So either pay on that dress for 6 to 12 months or look around for that same looking dress. Good luck.
