Sometimes when you get a new head unit it provides more power to your speakers. For example, i got a new alpine deck and i couldn't really listen to any music because my speakers were pieces of crap and couldn't handle the power from the deck. My music would distort terribly when i turned the volume not even half way up. If you fool around with the settings and nothing sounds better then you should look into upgrading your stock speakers for sure.
I hope this helps and good luck
mess with the settings, getting a aftermarket headunit should not effect the sound of your speakers to where they sound bad.
things to try, push the sound more into the back than front, never use full base, stresses the speakers and they wont sound as good. you can always buy a little 8" sub to fill in some base, and it wont take up much space. pioneer head units In Dash Receivers - Find great deals, lowest :: Shop for pioneer head units In Dash Receivers and read product reviews. First thing you need to do is set the fader to the front. does the bass sound better? If not, then balance to either side. If the bass gets better, then you ahev speakers out of phase, meaning the positive and negative wires do not match. If the bass is unaffected, then you you need to upgrade. It's as simple as that. Out of phase speakers will sound as though they are blown. It is a common thing if you don't have access to a database that has color codes to match all positives and all negatives. All it takes is for one to be hooked up wrong to sound "funky"
