    hi all

ive got a problem with playing divx and xvid on my xbox (not 360). dvds and cds play great but when i try to play a divx or xvid file from a cd-rw there is no sound at all.

can anyone please point me in the right direction? when i purchased the unit the sound was fine but all of a sudden it has gone off in the mediacenter and i do not know why?

one other point i forgot to mention wheteher its important or not im not sure....when i open up the mediacenter there is no intro music, that has gone off as well.

has anyone else experienced this problem?

    many thx

  • do they have sound if you copy them to the hard drive? your best bet is to try this, and if that doesn't work then post a debug log, as well as tech specs of the video (maybe even a small sample), what type of av pack, amp, cvs release date of your xbmc etc. the more info you provide the more chance that somebody that knows what they're talking about (unlike me) will help you.

  • uh yeah, how would playing them off the harddisk make any difference if the video plays properly? with the way xbmc's filesystem handling works, it shouldn't make any difference. this has got to be a config issue. i am guessing you are using some sort of digital output or something?

the previous post was correct in that we need more information about what you are using to help you.
