Hi, I'm wondering why my library mode doesn't display the 'Year' that other albums have above the 'Genre' info. It only does this with my classical music. The information IS in the tag (id3v2) and also gets picked up in the section 'years'. It just won't show:

Any thoughts?

Look at that, we cross posted. I have a theory.
The only classical album that gets it's year tag read is from 1905 and up. The rest is from before 1900. (I put in the original year of 'release')
Maybe XBMC isn't set up to read years before 1900?? Some warped kind of reverse millenium bug? ;)

Mind you, the list of years DOES show up when I go to the 'years' section in Library view (starting at 1767), but upon entering it, I get the same Big List results as in the screens above. Identify the song!:: The song can be found on the album Das Boot. The albums are in there, they just don't show their year.
Ok, looked through my collection.
Only ones not showing year are those that don't have the year anywhere in the database. They don't show up under Years view either (logically enough).
Thus, either the tags aren't being read, or they aren't present. With mine, I'm pretty sure they just aren't present, but haven't looked in detail, as I'm at work and don't have them handy.
I'd appreciate it if you could confirm whether the tags are actually present in your files, and if so, please supply said file so I can check it out.
Cheers,
Jonathan
Greatness! Thanks a lot!
Fixed in rev 9560.
Classical music lovers rejoice!
Yeah, that'll be it. There was no music before 1900, everyone knows that! It's probably due to some tag restriction (probably id3v1) that we've inherited somewhere.
Will see what I can do.
Thoughts are:
1. Is that view of the skin supposed to be showing them?
2. Is it always with the same albums?
3. Does the year show on the songs from the album?
I'll try and remember to see what happens with my collection later today.
Thanks for replying.
1. Yes, it is. Here's a screen from 'Recently played albums':
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x214/coenstegeman/screenshot000-2.jpg
2. Yes, it's not random, it's only with my Classical albums (except for one, which is also pretty weird)
3. If you mean in the little pop-up window with song information (where you can also rate the song): no, it doesn't.
That's also why I transferred the files to my pc and opened them up in Tag & Rename, thinking I forgot to put it in. But T&R shows the years in there just fine.
