OMFG!!!! i cant believe that these kids are getting a diploma?
Published by: smith 2009-01-07

  • can you believe how dense some of the children who are graduating these days are apparently some can not follow simple instructions so how can they ever expect to hold down a job we need some of the old school teachers to unretire and get back to teaching before its too late what do you think seniors?

  • I hope that you Dak25, did not receive a diploma when you apparently do not know the meaning of punctuation!!

  • I don't think that they are dense - I think that they have not been well taught! Just my opinion, but up until about 4 years ago, I taught the functionally illiterate! And all of my students were HIGH SCHOOL graduates! What a farce. Most could not even write their own names.

Some did not know how to spell their home address. I personally blame the high schools - they are pressured to graduate as many as possible! But then this is detrimental not only to the student, but to the society as a whole, because as you (less than eloquently), said, the teachers of today are not as well skilled in the arts of teaching as those who taught us back in yesteryear! Just my opinion. CJ

  • I'm closer to a high school senior than senior citizen, but I have to agree, No Child Left Behind and general laziness has resulted in quite a few morons getting diplomas. I took a senior English class during my junior year of high school, and I was one of two people in the class that could read and write at a twelfth grade level.
Now that I'm working, I find myself complimented on how quickly I learn and on the fact that when I finish one task I begin another without having to be told. I'm not pushing myself to go quickly, and I do stand around a bit at work. I felt I was being lazy, but I am apparently a very hard worker for my age group.
I find this extremely depressing. Though it does make my own future career brighter, if forcing imbeciles to get off their fat bottoms and actually, like, WORK, can be considered bright.
