  • What's a good setting for outdoor pictures with very bright sunlight behind the photographer?

  • Well there is the sunny f/16 rule. With ISO 100 film, 1/125 shutter speed f/16.

  • I forget. Isn't that supposed to be 1/250 at F8 if it's 1/125 at F16?

<---would usually go for the faster shutter speed and shallow depth of field anyway.

  • No, f/11 would be 1/250. f/8 would be 1/500.

  • My camera goes only up to f8. What shutter speed should I set it to? ISO 100

  • depends largely on the film you're using. What's the ISO?

  • I actually played around some settings and compared the results. You can find these pictures at http://www.geocities.com/whatsafrog2do/test.html

There are 4 settings of the shutter speed but all are F8.

I guess it's easier to just set the camera to Aperture priority of F8 and let the camera automatically set the shutter speed. Might show better results.
