What's a good setting for outdoor pictures with very bright sunlight behind the photographer?

There are 4 settings of the shutter speed but all are F8.

I guess it's easier to just set the camera to Aperture priority of F8 and let the camera automatically set the shutter speed. Might show better results.
depends largely on the film you're using. What's the ISO?
Well there is the sunny f/16 rule. With ISO 100 film, 1/125 shutter speed f/16.
I forget. Isn't that supposed to be 1/250 at F8 if it's 1/125 at F16?
