Hi,
Yesterday I added rules for mIRC to allow sending/receiving files, since they weren't there after reinstalling mIRC (only the iDent & mIRC connection rules were added by scratch install)
Today I fired up mIRC, and I couldn't send/receive again, I look up the rules, and the yesterday added send/receive rules were gone ?
What do I have to do for Outpost to remember the last settings ?
Or could a System Restore be the culprit here ?
Also, has anyone allready found a solution for the extremely long loading time at boot up ? I've done everything : Installed XP from scratch, applied SP2, & installed a fresh OP4, but still it takes ages to start up.
had a problem with 3.51 where it would forget time rules...
i set my remote desktop rules so that is active 9-5 business days..
after a couple of days the time rule unchecks itself.
reported this, once again not a reply from agnitum.. The Last Outpost - Taking names and using harsh words?:: For the most part, the aliens play by the same rules as you do. updated to v4.0, still same problem, cant be bothered to waste the time reporting it.. have requested support with 3 issues, and not ever had a respose (apart from the autoresponder crap)
oh well they got my money, why should they care;)
As you say Garry this problem has been discussed (http://outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17634) before and Agnitum is aware of the issue. It is on their to do list. I suppose it hasn't risen higher in priority yet. Submitting again will perhaps cause that to happen: 1. However, the problem reported here is different. I'll update my bug report on the time issue.
If you restored a system restore point which was made before you added your rules, then yes, system restore would have been the culprit.
Just in case, when you make new rules, be sure to click ok, apply and ok again :)
As far as your second question is concerned, please see
Loooong startup-time (http://outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18794), post it there or start a new thread on the subject. Thanks.
