I was very interested in acquiring Outpost 4 Firewall.
But, after reading in this forum about all those problems with it, I'm not so sure anymore.
For many years I'm using "Sygate" firewall,and had only one problem. If Symantec wouldn't have bought it out, I certainly wouldn't need another firewall.
If any of you can persuade me otherwise, I might change my mind.
Please let me know.
read the online product reviews and then make up your mind. OP usually comes out top or near top in the comparisons. as manny says, only people who have problems tend to post here (and the only satisfied people who post tend to be those for whom we have just fixed something). the vast majority who do not have problems don't post here tho some may stop in occasionally to read stuff. Before choosing something important as a firewall I read a lot of reviews, then download the trail and then put it through every firewall test I can think of. Optimising Outpost work concurrently with third-party security software.::

When you came to a support forum about Outpost, what did you expect?
If you have any specific concerns feel free to cite it, or better yet, install it and use the 30-day trial. It's much different from Sygate, so it will take some amount of learning and reading the manual, but it is a better firewall. And if you think it sucks, hey, it's just a trial.
I've tried almost every firewall avaliable, but I keep comming back to Outpost.
I have some problems too, but it doesn't take away the feeling that this is the
best one, and I hope my small problems will be fixed. If these are resolved it's a PERFECT thingy.
You have to persuade yourself Okie. This forum for the most part deals with problems so its no surprise to read about them here. If you are happy with what you have then continue using it.
