Agnitum Outpost Security Suite PRO 2008 - Portaliz.com Warez Forum :: Preemptive threat protection - Outpost’s Host Protection module monitors how Secure web surfing - The versatile Web Control module safeguards you http://www.portaliz.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=6210HOME | I'm not sure what makes Outpost disable it's webcontrol. I have nothing installed that should make it disable itself. Any ideas? I'm using Vista Ultimate with Avira free, and Windows Defender with of course Outpost 2009. Any ideas why it's disabling itself?
This module was most likely disabled during -and by- Outpost's installation to avoid compatibility issues with other security products such as Avira, for example.
Please have a look at Agnitum's kb article, How can I enable Outpost modules that were disabled automatically by the product for compatibility with third-party security software? (http://www.agnitum.com/support/kb/article.php?id=1000253&lang=en).
Hope this helps.
On my windows xp machine, Outpost's installer detected Avira and disabled its own realtime spyware detection, it did not disable web control. download.fi: muutoshistoria Agnitum Outpost Firewall PRO:lle:: Muutoshistoria ohjelmalle Agnitum Outpost Firewall PRO. I just went thru my compatibility.ini file (in Outpost's folder) and it looks like web control is indeed disabled when avira is installed on vista systems.
About Outpost's web control. My browser is Firefox, I use a number of extensions (noscript, adblock etc...) to control some, if not most, of web control aspects, advertisements/malware sites are controlled by my Hosts file, rogue stuff by OP's IP Blocklist and I have customized OP's web control to work alongside the above 'devices'. I very much like the result :)
For more on web control, use the built-in Help or -better still- download Outpost's User Guide (http://www.agnitum.com/products/outpost/docs.php).
If OP disabled Web Control on your machine, it is probably best to leave it alone.
I'm not running anything that seems like it would conflict with Web Control though... I'm using the free Avira which doesn't have WebGuard. Also, is the Web Control on Outpost good? If not, I'll just keep it disabled.
