Once again, Word has me baffled and frustrated.
I am combining multiple Word documents into one by cutting and pasting. I have a two page document that has page numbers in the footer. At the end of the information on the second page, I entered a "Section Break", "Next Page".
Then I pasted my second document on this third page. However, it carried over the footer with page numbering from the Previous Section EVEN THOUGH I INSERTED A SECTION BREAK!!!
I went into the footer on this third page, and it does NOT show "Same as Previous", so I don't understand why it is there.
Now here's the kicker... If I delete the footer from this third page, it deletes it from my first two pages enough though it is in a different section, as the "Same as Previous" feature does not appear to be turned on.
What is going on??? How do I get around this maddening problem?:banghead:
I figured it out, though I am not sure how. Even though, it didn't say "Same as Previous", I believe it was acting that way. After playing with it long enough, it starting working like I expected.
