She needs chew toys! like wooden stuff. If you don't buy it a chew toy the teeth will overgrow and go into the hamsters brain since hamsters are so small.
It is important to give your hamster sufficient things to chew in its cage. I suggest something more like wood, it won't be so disruptive at nighttime. Try supplementing your hamster's diet with a bit of Timothy Hay, its not usually something you give a hamster, but Timothy Hay is the best and most nutritious way to grind down your hamster's teeth. About the sleeping part, if it does cause you that much grief, I'd move her cage to another part of the house, or somewhere not so close to your sleeping quarters.
That is just what Hamsters do, it doesn't matter if you give her 200 toys she will always chew on the cage. Trust me, I've owned 3 hamsters and every single one of them chewed on the cage no matter what. Oh and hamsters are naturally more active at night, when it is quieter and darker they like moving around. So it's all quite natural, I always just moved my hamsters cage up stairs so I could sleep in peace. Hope I helped. tadpole » Update on Nugget, Cotton & the Little Ones:: Unlike Cotton and the little ones, this mini panda bear (yes, he is so fat, I sometimes mistaken him as a panda bear!), doesn’t like coming out of his cage http://tadpole.sketchut.com/2008/11/08/update-on-nugget-cotton-the-little-ones/comment-page-1/HOME |
