Outpost did not prevent it from leaking? Have I not set up the firewall properly?
Here are the current settings for Global and Exclusions. I have not changed the settings yet as was advised in this thread ( So in other words, this is how Outpost was set up when the leaktest was successful ).

p.s. On another note, I have seen mentioned a 'Guide' to making Outpost Firewall Pro very secure, where do I find this guide?
hayc59,
Thanks. I have updated the settings to reflect the screen-shot you posted earlier, upon trying PC Flanks leaktest again Outpost this time prompted me and the leaktest failed.
Thanks to all :)
Now if anyone could inform me where I can find the 'Guide' to making Outpost more secure it would be highly appreciated.
Bravo dude :D and I listed the link for guide above

you have 'anti-leak enabled but you also have
action ticked on 'allowed'!
you need to change that to 'prompt' or 'blocked'

Right here: A Guide to Producing a Secure Configuration for Outpost (http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9858)
Yes I chose 'Normal security' because I had the impression that 'High security' was for advanced users, which I do not consider myself to be.
Is there anyway to remedy this retroactively?
partisanentity
I think you choose "Normal security" during creation new configuration procedure after install. This mode is less secure than "High security" options set selecеted by default.
Here is what I have in option/application/anti-leak section
this test I one that makes me LOL

Hello hayc59,
I am using the latest version of Outpost Pro.
I don't think I have those settings, I will have alter them once I get home from work. They are not default is that correct?
My policy setting was Create Rules (or something like that). But when I ran the leak test Outpost did not react.

also make sure you go to 'file'/'save configuration as'/ name it[mine is hayc59]
Outpost notifys you on the first installation, that if you choose normal security instead of advanced security that leaktests will be failed. reinstall it and choose advanced security then everything will be fine :) PCFlankLeakTest failed - Free Antivirus Forum:: 2 posts - Last post: Dec 22, 2006I downloaded the PCFlankLeakTest http://www.pcflank.com/pcflankleaktest.htm and it tells me: Your Firewall Has Failed The Test. http://www.bullguard.com/forum/15/PCFlankLeakTest-failed_40412.htmlHOME | Free Software Downloads:: PC Flank – www.pcflank.com. partisanentity, Welcome
What version of Outpost you have running?

also make sure you go to 'file'/'save configuration as'/ name it[mine is hayc59]
Good idea :) Thanks!

Hello partisanentity,
Adding to hayc59 advice, make sure also that Componant Control is set to MAXIMUM, (not default) in order to make sure Outpost passes any other leaktests that you try. See How Secure Is Outpost Pro 4.0.964.6926 (582)? - Leaktesting - My Results!!! (http://outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18577&highlight=leaktest) where I recently tested Outpost 4.0 with a lot of the other well known leaktests out there. The end of the thread has some interesting details that indicate that some settings (as indicated by Gordons screenshots above) have to be changed from default to make Outpost more secure against these type of tests. It looks like Agnitum will be tightening the default settings for Anti-Leak in future releases. ;) Outpost policy is usually best left on BLOCK MOST mode, once all rules have been created that you need. Rules dont need to created for leaktests. But a lot of users like to keep it on Rules Wizard too, which is also fine. :)
Hope that helps,
Richie
