PFA deputy chief executive Mick Maguire believes the Football League's failed court case against Carlton and Granada is bad news for lower-division players.
Maguire said: "A lot of clubs lived and hoped that they might be able to retrieve the money they had lost.
"Now many clubs - particularly the Division One clubs, who have been hit the hardest - are looking at their arrangements again."
