Ok, so my guinea pig got it's leg amputated 2 days ago... she picked at the stitches so it's opened up a bit, but not bleeding. the doctor said he wouldn't bandage it but it had to stay dry. she could not step in poo, pee etc... today i woke up and she was standing in this huge puddle of pee!!! my concern is infection what should i do to clean it??? well if i were you i would call my doctor and ask him if its ok to clean it up. if he says yes go ahead and clean it up if not ask your doctor the other options.
clean it with warm water.then call a vet and ask what could you put on it so it will not get a infection.and also ask your vet what could you do so your GP will not pick at the wound.

awh poor thing:( well anyways.. that's kind of rediculous to say "don't let it walk in it's poo and pee" because that's just what they do. well if the vet did say that, clean the cage daily, and as for washing it..i'm not sure how. maybe just call the vet and see what he thinks. sorry i couldn't be much help :/ good luck! hope the piggy's ok!
