Scripts not Working - Help Please

Hi,

I'm fairly new to XBMC (about 18 months) I've used most of the standard stuff (music, video, pictures) but I'm just beginning to experiment with the use of scripts. The problem I have is that I can't get any scripts to run (even the 'standard' ones such as Tetris and T3CH upgrader. I've tried using different clean installs (to the E:/ drive) of the latest T3CH binaries but each time scripts fail to run. I've run with 'debug' and posted it at 'pastebin' see: http://pastebin.com/f4c588a7d

I'd really appreciate any ideas or feedback on what I might be doing wrong. I've checked everything I can but so far without success.

he means did you copy all of the sub folders when you copied the script to q:scripts.

I guess smartftp's not so smart :P. weird. You don't have a >250GB hard drive do you? if you do is it formatted with 32k clusters?

many thanks for your prompt reply. Not sure what you mean when you say 'installed correctly'? I've just got a standard install of XBMC. From the home page I'm selecting the option near the bottom of the page. I'm then browsing down to the script I want to run and selecting it. Is this the correct way of running a script or is there some installation process you need to perform first? Thanks ...

... when XBMC installed I ftpd the T3CH binary XBMC folder to the E:/Apps folder - hence the XBMC is in E:/Apps/XBMC when the XBMC runs the short cut appears to map across to the Q: drive. So when I look with ftp at the running XBMC it appears that all the data in the E:/Apps/XBMC folder are in the Q: drive [that is E:/Apps/XBMC = Q:]

For example if I look at Q:/scripts/Tetris it contains all the files, sub-folders and files contained in E:/Apps/XBMC/scripts/Tetris.

Thus I reckon the answer to your question is 'yes' all the files are there. Am I missing something? May be some configuration [advanced xml] setting that needs to be made to allow scripts to run?

... well, managed to fix problem :grin: nothing to do with xbmc. My ftp client SmartFtp was corrupting the 'date modified' of files transferred to the xbox. Updated SmartFtp to latest build and problem fixed. Strange, when viewed through SmartFtp file details appeared correct - only when you went file:view properties could you see that the 'date modified' data was incorrect. xbmc installation worked fine (pictures, videos etc.) only symptom that something wrong was scripts wouldn't run.

Yes - the disk size is gt. (>) 250gb. It's a Samsung Spinpoint 300GB. Not sure about the format cluster size. Is it possible to check this from the xbmc control panel?

I've just checked the 'date modified' value on the files I ftpd to the XBOX and noticed something strange. While the date shows correctly in the ftp client window when I check the file properties value the 'date modifed' value appears different it shows '05 December 2123 21:53:58'. I'm guessing this may be something to do with the problem. Possibly to do with my ftp client? I'm using SmartFTP (v3.0.1011.3). I'll investigate further and post updates as and when - thanks ...

Are you sure you installed them correctly? Both scripts are bombing out at the first import which leads me to believe that you may only have the default.py file installed, and nothing else.

Ah! I was interpreting the message about error getting the time on the file as the file was missing.
