i've got a router's set up program running on port 80, so i've tried changing the webserverport setting in the .xml file to " Setting up webserver behind linksys router [Archive] - Ubuntu Forums:: 6 posts - Last post: Feb 16, 2005I can set up the webserver on just about any port other than 80, and it works but I want a simple URL without adding port numbers! http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-15774.htmlHOME | 8080". however, even after a reset, the server continues to run on port 80.
have i missed something? are there any other settings that i should have changed?
i'm using cvs build 2004-07-30.
i can post it all if you want, but i can't find any reference to webserver, port 80 or port 8080 in it. i'm removing and re-installing a fresh copy of xbmc to see if that makes a difference.
edit - just completely removed application and settings, re-installed, re-edited .xml file to 8080. tested with the http server option off, nothing would connect. tried again with server on at port 8080, nothing. tried again with port 80....it works :bomb:
i must be doing something wrong, but what?!
maybe your build doesn't actually have that feature.
is there no mention of the the webserverport being port 8080 in xbmc.log?
i get the following: webserverport: 8080
my suggestion is to grab the source yourself and compile your own build.

are you running xbmc as a dash? if so, did you update both xbe's and edit xboxmediacenter.xml from the one it boots from?
i dunno.. i just tested changing the port to 8080 and it worked. i then tried changing to 808 and that worked as well.
what does xbmc.log show you when loading the xboxmediacenter.xml?
