| | I'm looking for sites that document successful defenses against
accusations of Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS), especially in those cases
in which the baby did not die. In addition, I would like the names of
defense lawyers and expert medical witnesses who were involved in such
successful defenses. The operative word is "successful."
Thanks, Pink. That's kind of what I'd expected. I'm pessimistic about
the possibility of a researcher finding an answer that's on point (and
not simply a list of SBS related sites) without having access to such
a proprietary/subscriber-only legal database (e.g., Westlaw,
LexisNexis).
This question was locked, then unlocked. Does that mean that the first
researcher who took a crack at it was unable to find anything? Can I
assume that other researchers will now respond? It was Meningitis -- Not Shaken Baby Syndrome:: Nevertheless, the jury only heard the prosecution’s shaken baby syndrome theory, while the justice system refused to allow the defense to present Meningitis http://www.geocities.com/three_strikes_legal/shaken_baby_not.htmHOME |
I will increase the bid, if anyone thinks he or she can answer my question.

Nautico,
Regarding the matter of your question having been locked, then
unlocked, it's not uncommon for this to happen several times as
different Researchers take a shot at finding information. If a
Researcher doesn't find much in a reasonable period of time, he or she
will often unlock the question without commenting, and the question is
then open for someone else to tackle.
This particular question is a toughie, and the price may be a factor.
Few Researchers are willing to invest a large amount of time for a
possible payoff of $7.50; when dealing with questions in this price
range, many folks will throw in the towel if something useful isn't
found quickly.
This comment will boost your question back to the top of the
Researchers' queue of questions needing an answer. I hope someone with
access to good legal databases will be able to assist you in getting
the information that you need.
Best wishes,
Pink
