I always had a slight overbite until 3 years ago, where one day something didn't feel right in my mouth. I was 15 and the dentist said my bottom jaw was growing. I"m now 18 and I have a very slight overbite, the bottom teeth go just a tiny bit ahead of the top teeth. If I force my upper jaw forward I can make them touch, almost right on top of eachother. I know about this underbite surgery, where they shift the bottom jaw forward and the bottom jaw back, but I'm not sure if I should get it. I just don't know if braces will do the job, since I dont think they can change the look of the jaw when the mouth is closed. Anyone have any advice?
Save your money,your hot.
When you stop growing (@ 23-25)your uni fund will thankyou for it.
And your long term future that uni payed for will way outweigh a tiny overbite that might not even be there in the future but spend it now and what`s going to pay for a future.
There`s a lot more people way worse off,but i do understand why your asking.
Take care groovette.
If your lower jaw is forward than the upper jaw then you should go for the surgery in which they reduce the lower jaw and the upper jaw comes out. Ideally we have this type of occlusion. With braces the teeth can be brough forward but the size of the jaw can not be increased or decreased. For more information on braces you can visit the following very informative website
