So, my mother needed help unclogging her toilet so we picked up a toilet snake at the store, read the box, watched a "how to" video on youtube and then tried to snake the toilet. WELL, every time we stick the snake down the drain - it goes and goes until finally the end of it pops back out of bottom of the toilet bowl again (somehow it's looping around and coming back). Then we realized that my mom's toilet is totally different than the one on the box and the one in the video. It seems that the drain hole in most toilets exits toward the rear/ back of the toilet (in other words you flush and the stuff goes down the drain towards the back of the toilet/ your wall). The drain hole in my mom's toilet however, faces the front of the bowl. So are we dealing with a different toilet structure here that is making it impossible to snake the drain?
