And does it matter?
An Interested Observer from the Land of Good Queen Bess II.
Dear Bryan,
It is difficult - nay, impossible - for me to resist the temptation to
post an **Official Answer** to this, now that the go-ahead for Offical
Answerage has been issued. As a British gent once observed, I can
resist everything except temptation.
As I often do when I am attempting to answer an essentially
unanswerable question while trying to give my customer his money's
worth, I turn to versification. I may not be the Bard of Avon, but I
am known for my satirical creations, so perhaps I am a Mockingbard.
Kerry or Bush? John Eff or George Dublya?
Whom to choose? Don't let it troublya.
I have the cure for election fidgets:
Elect the guy with the fewest digits.
A four-fingered hand won't lead us astray.
Turn on, toon in! Mickey Mouse today!
Mickey has been a perennial write-in candidate, but now his hour has
come round at last, and he is slouching toward the White House (or, if
not slouching, then skipping while whistling a merry tune, which the
biased media will gleefully report as slouching).
To those who may think that Mickey Mouse is reluctant to run, I direct
their attention to this souvenir pin for sale at Walt Disney World. If
this is not an obvious sales ploy for a Mickey/Goofy ticket, then I'm
Petunia Pig:

The only thing about Mr. Mouse that I find troubling is that he is
known to have powerful relatives in Florida. The last time we elected
someone like that, all hell broke loose.
Very best regards from across the pond.

I have thought of some campaign slogans for the Presidential Rodent...
MICKEY: THE BEST CHOICE FOR THE BIG CHEESE.
NO TO ELECTIONEERING! YES TO MOUSKETEERING!
HEY, WHAT KIND OF MICKEY MOUSE ELECTION IS THIS??!!
TIRED OF ONE RAT AFTER ANOTHER IN THE WHITE HOUSE? PICK MICK.
And, in reference to Mickey & Minnie as a team:
