No...the only time child support is paid is when the parents of the child/ren are separated. You'd just get cash assistance.
Two different things. Child support is income provided to the custodian parent who has the kids either by divorce or seperation agreement and cash aid is something that the government provides for families. Hope this makes sense. Also child support comes from the non custodil parent. The bad part about child support is once it is court ordered, the Judge doesnt care where it comes from just as long as its paid every month or the courts step in which is not good. Child supprt is only between the mom and dad of the said child no matter whether either parent parent remarries. Child support collection agencies will get the money from wherever they need to like Tax refunds, contest winnings, etc. especially if the support is in arrears which then in effect would stop you from getting any governmental aid too
Child support is for when a married couple divorces. If the mother has custody of the kids, then the father will have to pay child support. Child support is ONLY for providing food, clothes, shelter, etc. for the CHILDREN.
