Hi.
I would like to give my users the ability to block guests (like google) from reading their blogs, without blocking everyone who isn't on their buddy list. Jump Start:: For permissions and reprint requests, please call 212-630-4274 or fax requests to 212-630-4280. ket, we want to entice them and let them know that it. is a http://www.visualbox.it/fashionbox/mlcrepository/WWD USA 2007/Gennaio-Giugno07/031607.pdfHOME |
I was thinking that there should be a system with different permissions for :
* unregistered / guests
* registered users
* registered and on buddy list
* registered and on ignore list
Ideally, there should also be another permissions category for people who are registered and a member of a certain list of groups, with those groups set by the forum administrator. So users could make a blog that only, say, donors, or VIPs, or people with high post counts, could view. That would be great.
Right now though I'd settle for just being able to have different permissions for search engines / guests and registered users on blogs.
Something that the blog owner could set in each case.
So they could block google and guests from reading their private blog... and provide me (the site owner) another way to encourage guests to sign up (so they can view the private blogs).
Could you please implement this? It would mean a LOT to me as my users bug me about this feature every week.
I've found several other requests for this exact same feature :
* ThorstenA's request, posted Jan 21st (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=257142)
* ~kev~ (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=257472)'s request, posted Jan 23rd[/url]
Judging by a few threads I have read thus far, 10% of the feature requests in this blog feature requests forum make reference to being unable to differentiate in permissions between unregistered vs registered visitors to blogs, and that members should be able to block unregistered / guest visitors from their blogs.
