hi guys,
i have the xbmc for about 2 years now, and it allways displayed the srt sub files fine. i use the same name for the avi and srt files.
strangely, yesterday i started having a problem with the srt/sub files. they simply dont display.
i've tried activating them using the osd option, but the subtitle option allways apears as 'none', and i cant change it (allthow the enable option is enabled) . if i select the srt file that is in the same directory, with the same name as the avi, witch used to work, is continues do display none in the os menu option subtitle, and obviously the subtitle does not appear in the movie.

ive deleted my old xbmc directory from the xbox, and copied the new compile version 'xbmc-cvs_2006-06-11-t3ch' and the problem still persists... :( this leads me to suspect it may not be a problem of xbmc, or at least of some configuration option from a file located in the xbmc directory.

subs need to be displayed the player shuts off how do i change the file but i couldnt get it to stop crashing so i just guessed what they were saying.

another strange thing is, that my old version of the xbox media player, which i still use to play dvds, the srt files are all diplaying properly.
i also tried changing th font type, from and to ttf font, in the video config menu and nothing happens.
i suspect it may have been some configuration change made by my kids, but they dont seem t remember what they did, and i ran out of ideas.
some help would be appreciated.

there is a setting available that stop xbmc from looking for subs, don't remember exactly where it is, probably in the my videos's section of settings.
I am experiencing the same situation. I have two XBMC units one has this problem, the other is fine. Did you ever get any response or a solution?
