Stamp Pad Ink manufacturers in Japan and Germany

Published by: admin 2009-01-09

  • I want to find manufacturers of "stamp pad inks" in Japan

  • dixiedream-ga: Given the high value of US$200.00 you have associated with this question, can you please clarify what information in particular you are seeking about Japanese and German manufacturers of ink for stamp pads? Are you looking for simply a list of manufacturers in each country along with contact information? Or, is there something more you would like to know? As well, can you please clarify that by stamp pad, you are referring to a felt or sponge pad (usually in a lidded case) used to re-ink a rubber stamp, similar to: http://stampman.net/pages/catalog/inkpad/size3.html Normally, for a list price that is at the maximum accepted by the Google Answers system, there is substantial research required on the part of the Researcher. Your assistance in explaining in greater detail what it is you are looking for research on, will help greatly in ensuring that the Answer you receive is useful and valuable to you. Thanks, aht-ga Google Answers Researcher

  • As per your request for more information I am looking for only the ink manufacturer of what would be called stamp pad ink. This would be what is known in the industry as pigment ink that would go into a foam pad that would be placed in a lidded case as you have mentioned in your response. We do not need the foam or the lidded case as that is what we will do with them. I am only looking for the manufacturer of the inks themselves. These inks would usually be made with a high molecular weight of glycol along with other chemicals. I have put the high dollar on it because I am not a power user of google and do not know how to sort out the thousands of other kinds of ink manufacturers that show up in any generic search that I do or the fact that I don't get much of anything if I try to get very specific. Also when I try to get specific it brings up all of the companies who sell the inks in pads for rubber stamping. I need a basic manufacturer of inks only. Thank you

  • dixiedream-ga: A question for you... are you looking only for manufacturers/suppliers of liquid pigment ink? Or does your firm have the ability to mix pigment, dispersant, and a solvent to 'make' the ink prior to packaging it into the stamp pads? So far, I have some leads for Japanese suppliers, and will begin looking at the German ones next while awaiting your clarification. Thank you, aht-ga Google Answers Researcher

  • If we had the right formula for the inks we should be able to make mix them depending on how the pigment had to be dispersed.

  • Thank you for the clarification. I am still searching for Germany-based manufacturers. Are you willing to consider German importers of pigment as well? Perhaps I should also ask, is the ink to be used in Japan and Germany specifically? The ink supply world is global in nature these days, with a lot of consolidation of the manufacturing capability into a few major chemical conglomerates. Even if the company is based in Japan or Germany, the actual manufacturing location may be China or Mexico depending on the color and type of pigment required. Regards, aht-ga Google Answers Researcher

  • Actually we will be using them in China. The reason I did not ask for manufacturers in China is that Japan makes the best inks and Germany has also very good inks. China is not so good at it. If we had a manufacturer in China that would be the best. The inks that are made using the high molecular weight GLYCOOL seem to be the best. These inks are used for rubber stamping by Art stampers and will also be used for doing embossing where the ink after it is stamped will be dipped in an embossing powder and then heated with a heat gun causing a rasised or embossed look.

  • dixiedream-ga: Thank you for your question requesting a list of manufacturers in Japan and Germany that can supply you with pigment ink for use in stamp pads. When I first began searching for manufacturers using Google, I ran into the same problems you ran into. 'Ink' seems to mean 'inkjet refills' these days! So, I changed tactics. I continued my search by looking for industry-specific portals where I could search for manufacturers without being overwhelmed by the numerous websites out there trying to sell inkjet refills, rubber stamps, and other related items. The portals I found that appear to be the most useful are: ChemIndustry.com http://www.chemindustry.com/ - corporate headquarters in Monrovia, California, USA ChemNet.com http://www.chemnet.com/ - corporate headquarters in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China Both of these portals provide a service for companies in the chemicals industry to post their information and areas of expertise, and both provide a search tool for individuals looking for a supplier to identify their needs and filter out a list of potential suppliers. Of the two, ChemIndustry.com has the better search engine; both provided similar results, the ChemIndustry.com results were easier to work with. On ChemIndustry.com, I chose the 'dyes' category under 'Chemical Suppliers', to obtain a filtered list of all of the 'Dyes, Pigments, Inks' related companies in the database: ChemIndustry.com: Dyes, Pigments, Inks http://www.chemindustry.com/chem2ask.asp?id=0,11,646&n=949&d=lw I was then able to use the filters in the centre of the page to further filter the results: Info type Filter: Manufacturer Country Filter: Japan, then Germany (separate searches) Category Filter: >> >> Dyes, pigments, inks This resulted in 18 entries for Japan, and 26 for Germany. I then went through each of the entries to try to identify manufacturers that can supply pigment preparations for use in writing or stamp ink. Here are the results: =================== JAPAN: ---------- Dainippon Ink And Chemicals Inc. http://www.dic.co.jp/eng/index.html - from ChemIndustry.com: "Dainippon Ink and Chemicals, Incorporated (DIC), is one of Japan' s most diversified chemical companies. Ltd. http://www.toyoink.co.jp/en/index.html - from ChemIndustry.com: "Manufacturer and distributor of high performance printing inks, colorants, and related products." This is the Japanese website for one of Japan's largest ink manufacturers. However, the English versions of the website is still under development. Their American subsidiary also maintains a website, at http://www.toyoink.com which has product information. For your specific needs, you may want to contact Toyo Ink's Chinese branches, information can be found at: http://www.toyoink.co.jp/en/network/overseas/china.html ---------- Sanyo Color Works, Ltd. http://www.sanyocolor.jp/ - from ChemIndustry.com: "Manufacturer of colorants including pigments, dyes, functional pigments, pigments for textile dyeing, and pigment dispersions." Sanyo Color Works is able to supply organic pigments in liquid form; there is a possibility that they can supply you ready-to-use preparations that will minimize the amount of mixing you would need to do, while keeping shipping costs under control. BASF Printing Systems - Concentrates http://www.basf-drucksysteme.de/e/pb/w/konzentrate.shtml?navid=45 Contact: BASF Drucksysteme GmbH Industriestrasse 77731 Willst tt Phone: 07852/934-0 Fax: 07852/934-333 packink-d@basf-drucksysteme.de - OR - BASF Printing Systems LLC 2401 Whitehall Drive, Suite 100 Charlotte, NC 28273 Phone: 001-704-504 26 23 Fax: 001-704-504 26 38 printingsystems@basf.com =================== This list contains only the manufacturers in Japan and Germany who appear to offer the raw materials necessary to make high quality stamp ink, which is why there are only a total of six in the list. They can all provide pigment preparations (pigment with dispersant) where you would only need to add solvent to achieve the consistency you need for your specific application. In your case, the solvent would be a mixture of isopropyl alcohol, purified water, and propylene glycol (the glycol amount is small, and helps in slowing down the drying time). Exact recipes should be available from the pigment suppliers if you tell them exactly what the application is, and how the stamp pads and retail ink bottles will be assembled, stored, and shipped. To properly make pigment ink, your company will need to have industrial mixing machines. Some examples are: Gerhard BUSCH GmbH http://www.buschgraph.de/fm.index.en.html Officine Meccaniche Marchetti http://www.omm-marchetti.com/ing/prestampa/mescolatori-e.htm =================== An interesting and related article about making pigment ink is: http://www.ackleymachine.com/whitepapers/charofpharmconfinks.html =================== If your company is not prepared to make the final liquid ink yourself, then here are a few competitors who manufacture and sell their own stamping equipment and ink directly to the end-user. It may be possible to purchase their ink in bulk for your own application; however, as they are competitors, the cost will be higher than making it yourself. ---------- Tsukineko Co., Ltd. 5-11-10 Arakawa, Arakawa-Ku Tokyo 116, Japan tel. 81-03-3891-4776 fax. 81-03-3806-4490 http://www.tsukineko.co.jp (Japanese only) http://www.tsukineko.com/ (Tsukineko America) All-purpose Ink: http://www.tsukineko.com/pdfs/api.pdf ---------- Shachihata Inc. 4-69 Amazuka-cho, Nishi-ku Nagoya City 451-0021, Japan Tel: 81 52 521 3600 Fax: 81 52 521 3899 http://www.shachihata.co.jp/english/index.html ---------- Seibundo Limited Co. 3-14-12 Kamata Otaku Tokyo 144-0052, Japan Tel: 81-03-3734-0611 Fax: 81-03-3735-4526 http://www.tokyo-seibundo.co.jp/ - Seibundo sells 'German made inks' in ready-to-use format. =================== I hope that this information is useful to you.
