I have no idea how, but when I open MS Word in the "Normal" view, the cursor is at the very top of the page. I mean it's one line from being off the page.
How can I change this default startup to the "normal" way it should start?
I tried to change the "Normal.dot" template, but I couldn't get it to save.
TIA,
Tim
Howdy.
"Normal" view has the cursor and first line right at the top, under the ruler.
"Page Layout" view will show the cursor at the appropriate spot on the page. Is that what you mean?
Hmmm. Well, let's see. Quit Word, move the Normal.dot file out of the Template folder (don't trash it yet), and then start Word, it will recreate the Normal.dot file. See what happens.

If this works, then you have a corrupted Normal.dot file. But, if you have macros, styles, or toolbars that you have produced and use, be sure to keep them handy to re-import into the new Normal.dot.

No, I'm sorry, I didn't explain it very well. When I start it from any other machine, the first line of type that it defaults to is about 4 lines from the top of the page as it prints.
On the machine I'm on now, it defaults to the very first line on the top of the page. This means that I have to space it down every time I open it, before I can start typing.
Is there any way I can get it to be like the other machines I open it on?
