Studio Reference Monitors...

Published by: cfz 2009-01-09

  • Ive been tackling what monitors to get. And i have come down to about 4 companies.

    ADAM, Genelec, JBL, Mackie

I think the Adams are apparently the bodness. I want big ass drivers so i can feel the compression suck me into the speakers!!! JBL's too. I wouldn't mind a pair of those badboys...

Yeah I hear great things about the Adams.
HR824s I hear alot of mixed reviews around. They're not tapcos tho, so I'm assuming that mackie has really taken thier time and made serious sound.

Go for the Adams!! I honestly really like my KRK RP5s w/ 10" sub. Check out the RP8s - I hear good things. It's taken me a while to understand what the Sub-bass levels should be like. I need to do a/bs with the seperate cabinet to get things on point. I really wish I had 8" refences...

  • Woah.

  • PS Smaller drivers are quite suitable if you've got a sub.

  • Yeah i couldn't use small drivers..

I need to find a decent deal. Some stores are total ripoffs. 1300 give or take each...

Sounds about right for a pair unless you want Behringers. :-P
